First Experience Attempting to Help a Blue Collar Business as Mamba Margins.

We were hoping to have onboarded the first client by August for a 3 month retainer. Proposed $3,500 monthly, which would be low for the industry standard. The main service I would be is full time employee helping in the field, while assisting with CRM management and KPI tracking. I wanted to be trained in the field before doing sales for this company as I was originally planning on being hired on for sales. No training period was defined, no contract for employment, just a simple handshake after sharing future goals.

After the first two weeks, I was discouraged. Worked maybe 40 hours so far, sat in a truck most of the time, seemed like we made progress on identifying what his company needed to increase margins. However, I believe this is where I made my first mistake. I got impatient, I began creating ultimatums and deadlines for things to happen. I got bored with learning his company and was focusing on all the ways to improve.

Week three comes around and bossman says we got some jobs ready. I worked more hours that week than I had in my life. Felt like it was back on my 6:45 a.m. - 3:30p.m. then coaching from 4:30-7p.m. days. The tires kept moving and we were bringing in money. Had a lunch packed for me every day, they paid me well and they were helping me with a job at my moms. I was finally able to see my impatience about to ruin a good opportunity.

If all they need from me is my hands and time, why would I not be ok with getting paid just as much if I was helping them with business. They pay me for labor, I get to see their decisions materialize, and continue to find my best value proposition. No matter the excuse, this company did not think that I was worth the price that I was offering. Whether that is because they cannot afford it at that time, or they do not need the service at the time. The value that I was offering was not worth the cost they would have to incur.

If I as Mamba Margins want to continue to work with this company, I have no choice but to change my approach. One approach could be continuing to stay on hourly as they need help with jobs. Continue to learn the company so when capital is available to outsource sales I offer all my services then.

I continue to generate income, I learn their operations, I refine my value proposition knowing that they will eventually see the need for my service. Sometimes timing can be the one thing stopping a really good business deal.

The Mamba Mentality says use that time to refine your craft so that you can dominate when the time comes. The Impatience that was referenced earlier can kill the progress. If you are too impatient to and force the timing, you will not have the period of refinement. The impatience will create animosity with the business partners, and a bridge could be burned by emotions.

Instead use that emotion and the available time to gain experience and skill. Separate yourself. Stand Out.

Elevate. Scale. Dominate.
